School of Engineering Hosts the Smart India Hackathon

The Smart India Hackathon stands as a nationwide initiative, serving as a beacon for students to tackle real-world challenges and cultivate a culture of innovation and problem-solving. At the School of Engineering, we embraced this transformative initiative with unwavering enthusiasm, witnessing the registration of 57 teams. Out of these, 42 teams actively participated, showcasing their ingenuity, and an impressive 15 teams advanced to the prestigious National Level Hackathon.

In orchestrating this dynamic event, Dr. Shantanu Kumar Das, Assistant Professor at SOE, played a pivotal role. His dedication and organizational prowess were instrumental in successfully executing the Hackathon. The competition went beyond the mere exploration of topics such as rapid prototyping, minimum viable products, and concept validation. It became a catalyst for fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and the development of startup initiatives among the participating students.

Furthermore, the Smart India Hackathon not only heightened students’ understanding of critical concepts but also facilitated workshops and mentorship sessions, creating an educational ecosystem. The competition served as a vehicle for promoting awareness of specific challenges and cultivating healthy competition. Prizes and recognition awaited the most innovative solutions, adding an extra layer of motivation for participants to push the boundaries of creativity and problem-solving. In essence, the Smart India Hackathon at the School of Engineering became a transformative experience, encapsulating the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and the pursuit of impactful solutions.
