The B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering program is crafted to cultivate motivated and innovative graduates, preparing them for the dynamic roles of mechanical engineers.
Our curriculum is outcome-driven, seamlessly integrating theoretical concepts with practical skills. Throughout the four-year program, students not only gain a strong foundation in mechanical engineering but also foster critical, innovative, and creative thinking, along with honing problem-solving abilities to meet the demands of modern Mechanical Systems.
Duration: Four Years | Full Time
Eligibility: Successfully completed the 10+2 examination with proficiency in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, or a Technical Vocational subject. Achieved a minimum of 45% marks (40% for candidates in reserved categories) in the aggregate of the aforementioned subjects. Alternatively, candidates who have passed a minimum 3-year Diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates) may be considered, subject to the availability of vacancies in the First Year, once lateral entry opportunities are exhausted.
Mechanical Engineering, one of the oldest and most diverse engineering fields, applies principles from physics and materials science to design, analyze, prototype, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems.
This discipline focuses on converting thermal and mechanical power, as well as designing, producing, and operating machines and tools.
After pursuing a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Ajeenkya DY Patil University, mechanical engineer graduates find ample opportunities in various industries such as automobile engineering, cement, steel, power, hydraulics, manufacturing, drilling, mining, petroleum, aeronautical, biotechnology, and more. The current landscape is particularly exciting with emerging technologies like hyperloop, electric vehicles, flying cars, drones, robots, and additive manufacturing (including 3D printing) gaining prominence. Consequently, they are highly sought after in these dynamic and evolving fields.

Recently, 3D printing has gained popularity among aspiring designers, enabling them to bring CAD-designed objects to life on their desks. This technology is revolutionizing how businesses create and design products, influencing today’s engineering degrees. In this program, students delve into materials, chemical science, mechanical, civil, and industrial design. They participate in the design process, gaining practical insights into various 3D printing technologies’ strengths and limitations, including precision, resolution, and material capabilities. Students then apply this knowledge to real industry cases, gaining hands-on experience with 3D printing technology.
