The Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and Engineering (Virtual and Augmented Reality) is a four-year undergraduate program that equips students with the knowledge and skills to create and develop immersive experiences in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR) and Extended Reality (XR). The program covers many topics, including AR, VR & XR technologies, Application Development using Unity and Unreal Engine, Artificial Intelligence in AR & VR, Prompt Engineering using Generative AI, 3D Printing & Computer Vision. The program is also suitable for students who want to start their businesses in the Immersive media and technology industry (AR, VR & XR).

B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering Virtual and Augmented Reality

Duration: Four Years | Full Time

Eligibility: Passed 10+2 examination with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Technical Vocational subject is a prerequisite for admission. Candidates for reserved categories require 40% in these subjects. Alternatively. Applicants who have successfully passed a minimum Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) along with qualifying in the Entrance Test conducted by the Competent Authority (JEE Main/MH CET/Any Other State/National level) are eligible.

Program
Objectives

Helping students identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems, reaching substantiated conclusions using mathematics, basic sciences, computer science, and engineering, especially in the fields of Immersive Technologies (Virtual and Augmented Reality).

Preparing graduates to design and develop immersive experiences for a variety of domains, such as retail and Online Shopping, Advertising and Marketing, Manufacturing and Industrial, Healthcare, education and training, architectural and interior design, events and entertainment, Real Estate, Gaming, Travel and Tourism, etc.

We expose graduates to modern Computer Science and Engineering along with Immersive Technology tools and techniques, for application development in Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Extended Reality (XR) using Unity & Unreal Engine.

What will you explore as part of the program?
  • Basics: Core Mathematics and computer science concepts such as Geometry for Spatial Mapping and Trigonometry for Crafting Realistic Perspectives, Matrix Algebra for Transformations in 3D Space & Calculus for Simulating realistic Physics and Motion, Signal processing for Crafting immersive Audio besides Algorithms, Data structures, and Engineering Graphics.
  • Immersive Technologies: Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Extended Reality (XR).
  • Cross Platform Engines: Unity Engine & Unreal Engine are used to create AR / VR / XR applications and games for PCs, Consoles, Tablets & Mobile Smartphone devices.
  • Programming Languages: Use languages like C#, C++, Python and Blueprints (Unreal Engine).
  • Legal Aspects: Understand legal and compliance issues in Immersive Technologies (Virtual and Augmented Reality).
  • Project Management: Develop project management skills for AR / VR / XR Application development.
  • Soft Skills: Improve communication, teamwork, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Emerging Tech: Stay updated on trends like Cloud Computing, Prompt Engineering for Generative AI, Computer Vision, 3D Printing & Motion Capture.
