The B.Tech in CSE (Artificial Intelligence) at upGrad School of Technology (uGSOT) is a four-year undergraduate engineering program built for the next generation of AI-first engineers. It blends strong Computer Science fundamentals with practical Software Engineering, Machine Learning, and modern development ecosystems. Students build intelligent systems from Semester 1, working on real-world projects, internships, and industry-driven challenges. The program also offers flexible minor specializations in Quantum Computing, Generative AI & Machine Learning, and Full Stack Development & Cloud Innovation, enabling students to craft future-ready, interdisciplinary skill profiles.

B.Tech CSE (AI) – Quantum AI / Gen AI / FSD AI – Powered by upGrad School of Technology (uGSOT)

Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)

Eligibility: Candidates who have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from a recognized board, and meet the standard eligibility criteria for engineering admissions, are eligible to apply. The degree is offered in association with AICTE-approved, UGC-recognized, and NAAC-accredited universities.

Program
Objectives

  • Equip students with strong Computer Science and AI fundamentals to build intelligent, real-world systems.
  • Develop practical proficiency in software engineering, machine learning, cloud computing, and emerging technologies.
  • Foster an engineering mindset rooted in problem-solving, product thinking, and hands-on development from Year 1.
  • Prepare students for high-demand careers across AI, Full Stack Engineering, Quantum Computing, and Machine Learning.
  • Offer structured pathways for entrepreneurship, research, and global higher studies, enabling students to pursue diverse professional trajectories.
About the Program

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping every industry: from healthcare and finance to cybersecurity, robotics, and entertainment. The B.Tech in CSE (Artificial Intelligence) at uGSOT is designed to prepare engineers who don’t just understand AI but actively build with it.

The program integrates core Computer Science with AI & Machine Learning, modern software development, and flexible minor specializations. Students are introduced to coding and project-building from Semester 1, progressing through an industry-aligned curriculum that emphasizes deployable skills, applied research, and real-world product development.

Students can choose from three specialization pathways:

  • Quantum Computing — Quantum algorithms, quantum ML, cryptography, and hybrid quantum-classical systems.
  • Generative AI & Machine Learning — Deep learning, LLMs, NLP, AI agents, and MLOps.
  • Full Stack Development & Cloud Innovation — Web applications, cloud-native systems, DevOps, and AI-integrated products.

Beyond a single specialization, students can pursue multiple minor pathways, combining disciplines such as Quantum + AI, AI + Cloud Engineering, or Full Stack GenAI Applications to build truly interdisciplinary expertise.

What Will You Explore as Part of the Program?

Students will explore a broad and applied curriculum across four years, covering:

  • AI & Machine Learning — Machine learning fundamentals, deep learning, computer vision, NLP, and large language models.
  • Generative AI — Prompt engineering, AI agents, text-to-image models, and agentic AI systems.
  • Full Stack Development — HTML/CSS/JavaScript, React, Node.js, APIs, databases, and responsive design.
  • Cloud & DevOps — AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Quantum Computing — Quantum algorithms, Qiskit programming, quantum ML, and quantum cryptography.
  • Software Engineering Fundamentals — Data structures, algorithms, system design, distributed systems, and software architecture.
  • Data Science & Analytics — Statistics, data processing, exploratory data analysis, and MLOps.
  • Product & Startup Thinking — MVP development, user validation, investor pitching, and entrepreneurial problem-solving.
  • Research & Higher Studies Preparation — Academic writing, conference submissions, GRE/TOEFL preparation, and SOP guidance.
How Will You Be Taught?

uGSOT’s pedagogy is built around learning by doing:

  • Coding from Sem One — Students write code and build projects from Semester 1, not after years of theory.
  • AI-First Project Building — Every semester involves applied projects rooted in real AI and engineering challenges.
  • Industry-Driven Curriculum — The program is shaped by what companies actually need, not just academic convention.
  • Three Learning Tracks — Students choose between the Academic Excellence Track, Startup & Entrepreneurship Track, or Research & Higher Studies Track, each offering tailored mentorship, activities, and outcomes over 7 semesters.
  • Hackathons & Competitions — Regular hackathons build problem-solving speed, teamwork, and creative engineering.
  • Internships & Industry Exposure — Students access internship opportunities through the broader upGrad ecosystem, including 28L+ internships enabled via Internshala.
  • Founders’ Forge (Entrepreneurship) — Aspiring founders receive access to incubation, seed funding, co-founder matchmaking, prototyping labs, and a dedicated VC Day.
  • Research Mentorship — Research-track students work on faculty-led projects, access IEEE/ACM/Springer libraries, and build publication records before graduation.
  • Expert Mentorship — Regular AMAs, masterclasses, and 1:1 sessions with founders, CTOs, and CXOs from companies like Google, Razorpay, and Zoho.
